It was Sunday, Thambi’s holiday. He was full of energy, ready to explore the village and play all day. As he wore his usual white shirt, a thought popped into his head. “Why not try a colorful shirt for a change today?”
Excited by the idea, Thambi ran to his Patti and said, “Patti, I always wear my white shirt. Can you give me a different color shirt to wear today?”
Patti smiled and went inside.
Thambi waited eagerly, wondering which color shirt Patti would bring. “Will it be red? Or maybe green? No, I think it will be blue—because that’s Patti’s favorite color!”
A moment later, Patti came back holding… another white shirt!

Patti laughed softly. “Thambi, this is not an ordinary shirt. This is your thatha’s magic shirt. Whenever you go near a color, the shirt will change into that color. Why don’t you try it and see?”

Without wasting another moment, he quickly put on the white shirt. His heart was beating fast with excitement. Now Thambi couldn’t wait to step outside and find out for himself—was this shirt truly magical?
